Flood Plain Development, Improved Soil Health & Energy Efficiency Have a lot in common!

I share this opinion written by CEEE, Ag Engineer Kamyar Enchayan.  This opinion piece,“The Three Things Iowa Must Do to Protect Against Flooding,” ran in the 9/17 issue of the Des Moines Register.
Conservation means wise use. Measured development and never in a flood plain, biodiversity in our cropping system, combined with known practices which improve soil health and reduce runoff, energy efficiency and clean energy generation are things we CAN do to protect from the devastation of flooding.

As a Clayton County Supervisor I will focus on what we CAN do and less on what we can’t.
